The Senior Engineer Exterior (EXT) - Special Engineering (SE) is part of a multidisciplinary team and reports to the Engineering Project Manager. They also provide functional leadership to a team of approximately 10 Engineers. The Senior Engineer maintains contacts with clients, suppliers, production, the project team, and other engineering disciplines. The Senior Engineer EXT - SE is responsible for the complete delivery (from initial customer proposals to handover to production) of engineering items such as movable swimming pool floors (glass), retractable TV screens, doors, glass sliding panels, and more. In addition to the interdisciplinary system integration of these items into the exterior, detail engineering also focuses on the manufacturability of items such as outdoor furniture, outdoor kitchens, polished stairs/railings, swimming pools, etc.

In this role, you understand the construction process, have experience organizing tasks, and working with schedules. You can maintain a complete overview of the project and make adjustments as needed. You are used to taking over drawings from Naval Architects/Designers and further developing them into a workable package for in-house production and suppliers.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Communicating with engineering companies regarding manufacturability, quality, and design.
• Direct contact with the project teams of superyacht owners.
• Initiating and supporting improvement projects.

For this position, we require at least a completed MBO level 4 education in Mechanical Engineering, Wood and Furniture (ship and yacht building), or Industrial Design, supplemented with several years of relevant work experience. You have a good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written, and are proficient with a CAD application in 2D and 3D. In short, a technical talent with excellent communication skills. You have analytical thinking skills and can think outside the box for solutions.

Also important are the following criteria:

• 3 to 5 years of leadership experience.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Knowledge of NX or Catia or other High-End packages.
• Knowledge of yacht building is a plus (aerospace is an option).
• Knowledge of Teamcenter is a plus.
• Experience in making detailed drawings.
