Introductie

As a Lead Engineer specializing in engine diagnostic robustness within the Engine Development division, you'll be pivotal in shaping heavy-duty diesel engines with a strong emphasis on diagnostic reliability. Your role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, ensuring robust diagnostic performance, exploring avenues for improvement, and contributing to the resolution of field issues.

  • Analyze diagnostic monitor performance using data analytics derived from vehicle fleet, connected vehicles, and test cell data to evaluate false failures and detectability.
  • Explore and assess various options to enhance robustness, including calibrations, software functions, and hardware improvements.
  • Create and implement plans for improvements across current and upcoming projects, focusing on calibration optimizations, enhanced diagnostic functions, and more.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and resolution concerning field issues related to diagnostics.
  • Identify crucial tests for test cell and vehicle testing, ensuring early assessment of diagnostic performance for future projects.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams, engaging with software development, calibration, validation, service, and hardware design teams.
  • Drive proactive improvements in tools and processes, continuously seeking opportunities for enhancement.
  • Provide insights into project requirements at different stages based on fleet experience and analysis, contributing to property definition, function development, and calibration.
  • Analyze, summarize, review, and report on the diagnostic performance of current products to the (Project) Management team.Initiative-driven problem-solving approach.
  • Strong collaboration skills to integrate diverse perspectives within teams.
  • Result-oriented mindset emphasizing timely delivery of effective solutions.
  • Proficient analytical capabilities to synthesize information from diverse sources.
  • Clear and effective communication skills suitable for presentations at the (Project) Management level.

Wat verwachten we van jou?
  • Hold a Master's degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Controls Engineering.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in engine and aftertreatment OBD development, covering diagnostic function development, calibration, validation, and data analytics.
  • Experience in engine and aftertreatment systems diagnostics or controls (DOC, DPF, SCR).
  • Proficiency in diagnostic-related aspects such as OBD monitors, regulations, and service tests.
  • Solid knowledge in FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, P-diagrams, Statistics, and Boundary diagrams.
  • Strong background in data analytics supported by robust analytical skills.
  • Excellent English language skills are mandatory.
