Imagine the moment of a rocket launch, the countdown, one of the most nerve-wracking experiences there is. 3, 2, 1, ignition! At that time, satellites crucial to humanity are launched, in areas such as navigation, telecommunications, space research and environmental studies. At APP we are the leading manufacturer of ignition systems for European space rockets. In our state-of-the-art facility, we develop, produce and test rocket igniters and parachute mortars for space applications and various gas generators for terrestrial applications.

Are you looking for a new challenge where you can lead multidisciplinary teams? You will be the face of our company for our customers. As a Project Manager at APP you take responsibility for the complete life cycle of the rocket ignition systems.

 

Your Responsibilities:

As a Project Manager at APP ArianeGroup, your tasks will include:

Team management: Managing our internal project team, consisting of purchasing, design engineers, technical specialists and production employees, to ensure seamless collaboration and optimal performance.

Stakeholder management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Project execution: Ensuring that the contracted tasks are carried out within budget, according to schedule and to the stated requirements.

Reporting: Regular reporting to the Management Team on finances, risks and opportunities.

Optimization of Supply Chain and Manufacturing Processes: Establishing and improving the supply chain and manufacturing processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

Innovation: Responsible for the implementation of innovations in the product and/or processes, continuously striving for improvements to reduce costs, shorten delivery times and increase quality.

Customer Interaction: Preparing and negotiating quotes with customers to reach mutually beneficial agreements.

Your Qualifications and Abilities

To successfully fulfill this role, we believe you should have the following qualifications:

Technical Background: A technical education at the Bachelor or Master level, gives you a solid foundation for the space industry. A technical background in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technology, or Applied Physics is preferred.

Experience: Relevant project management experience, preferably within similar industries such as aerospace, aerospace, or defense.

Certification: A project management certification such as IPMA/PMI would be a strong added value.

Communication: Excellent communication skills in both English and Dutch, both written and oral.

Skills: Excellent planning and organizational skills with experience in continuous process improvement techniques such as LEAN.

Attention to Detail: Sharp focus on costs, deadlines and risks, where close project management is essential.

To be eligible for this position, taking into account the procedures applicable in space travel, you must reside in the Netherlands and originally come from the EU.
