Introductie

The System Function Design team within the Engine Development department focuses on defining new engines, including emissions, OBD, and diagnostics. The team is committed to developing environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and highly reliable heavy-duty diesel and hydrogen engines and aftertreatment systems.

Functieomschrijving

As a Function Design Engineer for heavy-duty diesel and hydrogen engines, the role involves taking the lead in developing OBD/OBM-related control concepts, defining system-level requirements for software functionality. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing development plans for necessary control updates related to new OBD/OBM regulations.
• Creating controller concepts for new OBD requirements, including verification with SIL, HIL, or RCP on an engine.
• Documenting controller requirements on the engine system level with clarity.
• Supporting calibration engineers with pre-calibration of new controller concepts.
• Sharing OBD expertise within the group and contributing to the vision for future OBD/OBM concepts.
• Playing a key role as an integrator between suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop control concepts for OBD/OBM monitoring.

Wat verwachten we van jou?

The ideal candidate will possess:

• An MSc degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of EU and NA emission and OBD regulations.
• Experience with engine and aftertreatment controller development.
• Leadership abilities to lead a technical team and interact with suppliers regarding OBD matters.
• Experience with Six Sigma-related processes (DMAIC, Design For Six Sigma, FMEA, Monte Carlo).
• Good knowledge of the requirement engineering process.
• Extensive proficiency in Matlab and Simulink.
• Experience with Doors Next Generation is a plus.
• Mandatory good English skills; Dutch skills are a plus.
